🍓🍵Iced Strawberry Matcha Strawberry “Syrup” - 1 c 🍓🍵Iced Strawberry Matcha

Strawberry “Syrup”
- 1 cup of strawberries, chopped
- 2 Tbsp water
- 2 tsp honey

Blend all ingredients on high speed 

✨Put it together✨
Warm water to almost boiling and combine a couple Tablespoons with desired amount of matcha powder. Add ice. Pour strawberry purée over ice. Add milk of choice. I used coconut milk!

It is so easy to pop a few of these already-made waffles in the toaster over and everyone loves them! Also, they make a great little snack.

Top with more nut butter, berries, jam, syrup, or whatever else your heart desires. Eat alongside eggs and other proteins for a heartier meal!

Calories - 183
Total Fat - 5 g
Total Carbs - 24 g

Winter wellness is… getting outside for a walk! No Winter wellness is… getting outside for a walk! Not for exercise, but for everything else that helps you stay well.

I felt like a kid again getting ready to go out for my adventure in the snow. 

When I made it home, after an hour of walking and talking with a fellow wellness walker, I had the coziest cup of coffee. 

Yes, it’s cold. Yes, it’s a little slippery. And yes, it’s so beautiful and magical ❄️

Just doing my best 🤷‍♀️ My goal was to get out o Just doing my best 🤷‍♀️ 

My goal was to get out of bed and on my walking pad for a mile before waking my kids up at 7am. Having an energy drink before the sun rises is my motivation. 

Is it the healthiest option? No…lol. 
Is it working? Absolutely. 
Is it harming me? Nope. I still keep my caffeine intake under 400mg (most days)
Will I do this forever? I hope not 😂

But this is how I am adjusting to waking up earlier right now. I found something relatively harmless that works for me. This is what wellness can look like sometimes. It’s not a straight line. It’s progression and consistency. 

My long term plan is no caffeine at all first thing in the morning and I’m already on my way there! It’s already been about a month and mornings are getting easier 🙌 My next phase will start soon enough.

Sometimes, self care is… minding my own business. Sometimes, self care is… minding my own business. 

I find that when I’m just minding my own business and focusing on what keeps me happy and healthy, then others want to be a part of that, too. I’m not a Swifty, but one of my favorite sayings is the lyric, “I keep my side of the street clean”. I don’t really care what she’s referring to, but I love using it to remind myself to stay in my lane and keep it clean. 

As a health coach, I am all about self-preservation and preventative care. And if you’re too busy minding others’ business all the time, then who’s minding you? 

Some examples of self care for good measure:
- staying regular with healthcare checkups, tests, dental work, etc
- exercising, moving your body, stretching
- breathing deeply, running, getting fresh air
- getting enough sleep, meditating 
- managing stress
- eating nutritious foods that nourish and hydrate
- tracking finances 
- connecting with others, having hobbies, serving your community
- getting a holistic health & life coach

Detroit pride is strong and it breaks barriers. Also, girlies wanting to get into sports leadership, look up the ground-breaking Athletic Director, Dr. Candice Turner, at Wayne State University! She's been a winner since the moment she was born and so are you ❤️

Shaming yourself to perform isn’t doing what you t Shaming yourself to perform isn’t doing what you think!

It’s super easy to fall into a shame cycle and call it a “reality check”. I’ve done it plenty of times… telling myself I’m pathetic, disgusting, weak… all of the things we grew up hearing 😭

The only thing I got from shaming myself was low self-esteem and more problems. 

Think of it this way 💡you wouldn’t continue to just call a kid stupid for getting bad grades and expect that to make them do better. You would get them a tutor as support! 

➡️ Shame = lowering confidence

➡️ Support = increasing confidence

Both shame and support can create results, but support will lift and last 🤍

That’s what partnering with a coach does!

Here are my tips for moving beyond “all-or-nothing Here are my tips for moving beyond “all-or-nothing”:

⭐️ Set a smaller goal that drives you toward the bigger goal. For example, one of my goals is to just be in the workout space every day. 9.7/10 times I get a good workout in just doing that. 

⭐️ Don’t look at a veer off course as a failure. Understand the facts behind why you did or didn’t hit your goal. Every hit and miss is worthy data for adjustment. We have to meet ourselves where we are. 

⭐️ Know which task(s) should be the priority. Sometimes we just give ourselves too much to do at once! 

⭐️ Keep track of progress over time and reflect on it. Reaching out goals means we’re always raising the bar. This can cause burnout and possible lead to falling off track. Celebrate more as you progress. 

⭐️ Try to just go with the flow when things start to fall apart. If you have a truly aligned, internal purpose for a goal, you will create a detour that still gets you to your destination.
